The role of the Finance Coordinator is to oversee the Finance Team in Jordan North, specifically managing of the area budget and management of the team.

NRC provides assistance, protection and durable solutions to refugees and internally displaced persons worldwide.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Finance Coordinator will perform the following functions:

  • Update and monitor the Area Master Budget – including allocation of costs in coordination with Heads of Departments and identifying funding gaps.
  • Ensure effective cash flows, preparing forecast of expenditures and submitting monthly cash requests.
  • Ensure timely payments to vendors, consultants, etc.; in accordance with NRC’s financial procedures and contract policies
  • Ensure that financial supporting documentation meet NRC and donor rules and regulations
  • Ensure that bookkeeping is done on a daily basis; utilizing the NRC Agresso accounting system
  • Responsible for the month-end closing and preparation of the Balance Reconciliation Sheet (BRS) within the stipulated period, with close coordination with CO Finance
  • Provide up-to-date analysis and regular reports of the Area financial status, including monthly Budget vs Actual reports to be shared with Area management
  • Assist CO Finance on Internal, donor and/or External Audits preparations
  • Training of line managers and staff with financial responsibilities.
  • Ensure development and implementation of administrative systems and procedures.
  • Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards & principles within NRC and amongst beneficiaries served by NRC.
  • Ensure that the accounting, monitoring and reporting are according to procedures.
  • Support project staff in financial matters.
  • Maintain budget control and monitor cash flow for the area.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have:

  • Bachelor degree or higher with minimum 3 years of experience working in Finance, recovery context.
  • Proven ability to manage a complex project in a complicated refugee setting.
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, who can build trust and confidently navigate both internally and externally at different levels.
  • Ability to analyze data and trends for informed decisions and Capacity building skills.
