Project Director at Save the Children, Maputo, Mozambique

Save the Children is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Project Director in Maputo, Mozambique.

The Project Director will be responsible for the planning, management,monitoring and evaluation, coordination and successful implementation ofthis project across the three provinces, which includes a broad mix of direct implementation and partner sub-granting to 3local partners.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Finance Manager will perform the following functions-

  • Strategic guidance, providing strong leadership and ensuring technically sound decision-making process.
  • Provide oversight of program activity team building and the creation of external partnership particularly at national and sub-national level with the Ministry of Education and Human Development and the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare.
  • Overall management and implementation of a multi-million pound education project.
  • Ensure that the program is appropriately staffed across Save the Children and partner, including the appropriate combination of expertise across technical and operational area.
  • Developing and maintaining efficient and effective operating system.
  • Ensure compliance with all Save the Children Minimum Operating Standard, including Child Safeguarding, Child Protection, safety and security management.
  • Producing report (monthly, quarterly, annual) as well as donor report for implementation activity and documenting lesson learned and challenge, highlighting area of project improvement.
  • Ensure research related component and other project related learning are delivered to the highest standard.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • Masters degree or equivalent in education, gender or development studies or a related subject.
  • Expertise in education and gender issues relating to girls’ education specifically.
  • Strong project management and budgeting skills.
  • Experience of project and financial management of multi partner or agency consortia.
  • Provency experience in research, learning focused monitoring and evaluation and knowledge management .
  • Fluency in English (essential).
  • Fluency in Portuguese language skills.
