Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Senior Planning and Policy Specialist will perform the following functions-

  • Support reviews of relevant operational (e.g., the resident mission-related) plans and policies as part of Strategy 2030 implementation.
  • Support business process streamlining aligned with Strategy 2030. This includes contributing to revision of operations manual and staff instructions.
  • Participate in SPD quality assurance review of selected project and program documents to ensure consistency with applicable operational policies and appropriate choice of modality.
  • Support in resourcing Strategy 2030 implementation (e.g., staff resource/skills assessment, knowledge management, operational resources allocation).
  • Provide substantive contributions to corporate strategic planning and policy coordination.
  • Lead in knowledge sharing and disseminating relevant information, findings and lessons to increase awareness and knowledge in ADB about operations policies and business processes.
  • Act as a resource person for internal training and external briefings on ADB operational policies and procedures.

Applicants must have-

  • Master’s Degree, or equivalent, in economics, finance, business, public administration or related fields, combined with specialized experience in similar organizations.
  • Alternatively, university degree in related fields combined with additional relevant professional experience can be considered.
  • At least 10 years of relevant professional experience, with excellent knowledge of development conditions and challenges across the Asia-Pacific Region, and of the broader international development agenda.
  • International experience working in development in several countries.
  • Thorough knowledge of strategic objectives, priorities and operational procedures of similar multilateral institutions.
  • Good understanding of ADB products and services.
  • Ability to share and utilize relevant knowledge to benefit the broader ADB community.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to effectively operate as part of a team and to coach team members to develop their capabilities and potential.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
