The primary role of WHO is to direct and coordinate international health within the United Nations system.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Administrative Officer will perform the following functions:

  • Provide support for the management and control of all administrative services and operations of the Office including administration, budgeting, finance, procurements, human resources management, event management, ICT, security arrangements and offices space and equipment arrangements.
  • Provide advice and guidance to the HoO and other team members on administrative and financial rules and regulations, practices and procedures and other administrative processes and services.
  • Establish and utilize tracking mechanisms that allow the HoO and the team to be proactive in initiating and executing administrative actions.
  • Develop standards operational procedures to ensure compliance with rules and regulations of the Organization, including risk management. Plan, recommend and implement systems, norms and procedures for the administration of human, financial and material resources.
  • Ensure that the financial and administrative recommendations provided by the Division of Administration and Finance and other auditing mechanisms are implemented and observed.

Applicants must have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, finance, economics or related field from a recognized institution.
  • Qualifications in business management, health services administration or related field.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in office/project management in the areas of administration, human resources, finance/accounting, budget, logistics, security, travel arrangements, procurement or any other related administrative services and operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordination of activities.
  • Relevant work experience, with special focus on administrative and financial rules, procedures and practices, within the World Health Organization and other UN agencies.
  • Expert knowledge of English.
  • Expert knowledge of Russian.
  • Beginners knowledge of Kazakh.
