United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Chief Field Office in Hodeidah, Yemen.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Chief Field Office will perform the following functions-

  • As a principle, decisions must be placed at the level nearest to implementation.
  • UNICEF YCO is putting in place an ambitious decentralization framework to ensure the delivery of effective, efficient, and quality services that are well adapted to the demands of the immediate operating environment and the specific needs of the people served.
  • Genuine programme decentralization, and consequent decentralization of authority and flexibility in implementation and management, is a prerequisite to empower field offices.
  • Being in the forefront of programme delivery, the CFO and field office staff need to have sufficient authority to respond to day-to-day challenges and programmatic exigencies that confront them as they perform their tasks.
  • Truly decentralizing programme management and personnel administration is a major step to achieve this.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • Advanced university degree in any of the following: Social Sciences, Public Administration, International Relations, Business Administration, Public Health, Education, or other fields related to the work of UNICEF.
  • A first university degree with a relevant combination of academic qualifications and experience may be accepted in lieu of advanced university degree.
  • Work Experience: Eight years of professional work experience at the national and international levels in social development, management, monitoring and evaluation Experience in emergency operations and in supervising staff.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Working level of Arabic will be a strong asset.
