United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Child Protection Officer in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Child Protection Officer will perform the following functions-

  • Contribute to the advocacy, planning, implementation, review and reporting of the child protection program and more specifically to the national program for support of the modernization of civil status.
  • Provide high-quality technical assistance to implementing partners of the child protection program, in particular to DGCEC and other vital registration areas for the achievement of the results of the national program of support for the modernization of the child protection program the civil status thus of those of the program Protection of the child in general.
  • Work with the section team to ensure that the National Program for Supporting Vital Statistics Modernization is fully integrated into the strategic directions of the Protection Program, in accordance with UNICEF rules and procedures.
  • Monitor the overall implementation of the program and the use of the budget, in particular with regard to the National Program for Support to the Modernization of Civil Status in accordance with the agreed work plans and agreements with the donor and support the periodic reviews of the program.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • University degree at least Bac + 4 in the field of social sciences, political science, international development, civil administration, psychology, sociology, international law or other related fields.
  • Demonstrate solid expertise and relevant experience of at least 2 years in the field of Child Protection and in particular in the civil registry.
  • An experience of at least 2 years in the implementation of development programs and projects.
  • To be experienced in advocacy, technical assistance and support to project implementation and program implementers in the field.
  • A good capacity for synthesis and analysis.
  • An excellent ability to work in a team.
  • A perfect command of spoken and written French and strong working skills in English.
