World Health Organization (WHO) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of External Relations Officer in Geneva, Switzerland. The duration of this post is 1 years.

The primary role of WHO is to direct and coordinate international health within the United Nations system.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The External Relations Officer will perform the following-

  • Develop and implement fundraising strategies for the Special Programme.
  • Strengthen the fundraising capacity of HRP staff including the establishment of subgroups able to play an active role in assisting with resource mobilization activities.
  • Manage effective resource mobilization.
  • Collaboration on inter-departmental and inter-Cluster responsibilities. Work with Cluster staff on proposals, prepare for annual donor meetings.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • Advanced level university degree in communications, marketing, business administration or public administration or other related area.
  • Studies or degree in public health.
  • At least 7 years experience in fundraising, including substantial work in fundraising for health and in the international area.
  • A proven track record in raising major gifts from the private and foundation sector.
  • Experience in raising funds from governmental sources.
  • Experience in planning, implementing and evaluating information and communications projects/strategies.
  • Understanding of WHO mandate and goals as related to sexual and reproductive health.
  • Expert knowledge of English.
