United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Finance Associate in Yangon, Myanmar.

UNOPS mission is to serve people in need by expanding the ability of the United Nations, governments and other partners to manage projects, infrastructure and procurement in a sustainable and efficient manner.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Finance Associate will perform the following functions-

  • Full compliance with UNOPS rule and regulation of financial process, financial record and report and audit follow up.
  • Applicant is the responsible for the implementation of the effective internal control framework.
  • Explanation of the content of internal Standard Operating Procedure in Finance in consultation with the direct supervisor and office management.
  • Extraction of required financial information from IRM project agreement and set up of necessary account in line with existing UNOPS financial policy and procedure.
  • Preparation and processing of IRM procurement budget revision and work plan.
  • Maintenance of budget database by verifying and entering approved budget.
  • Review and adjustment of project expenditure/obligation against approved budget.
  • Review and confirmation of appropriateness of operational transaction processed through the interpretation and determination of applicable policy, regulation, rule.
  • Review of payment request for completeness before processing, ensuring that documentation needed is complete and that all required procedure are fulfilled to enable the payment.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • Secondary education with minimum 6 years of is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in finance, accounting, business administration or related area would be an advantage and may substitute required years of work experiences.
  • Previous working experience with ERP systems is an asset.
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills would be an asset.
  • Intermediate level written and spoken English and fluency Myanmar is required.
