The World Food Programme (WFP) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Logistics Officer in Niamey, Niger. The duration of the post is 1 year.
The Logistics Officer will play a key role in the implementation of technical assistance activities in partnership with the MSP and the ONPPC and will, where appropriate, transfer expertise and good logistics management practices from WFP.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Logistics Officer will perform the following functions:
- Logistics planning and distribution
- Develop and organize planning of logistics activities based on the needs and priorities of the public health system.
- Implement the transport and delivery mechanism of health products in accordance with planning and procedures.
- Establish a reliable cargo tracking system from loading to last mile delivery.
- Support the successful management of ONPPC fleet trucks and assist with the implementation of WFP fleet management initiatives.
- Analyze and explore different models of distribution circuit to the last Km.
- Analyze the logistics market and set up standard procedures including a short list of approved carriers.
- Monitoring of operations, training of the different partners
- Set up an operational monitoring system and a system for collecting transport and delivery data on the basis of transport documents and feedback.
- Promote the transfer of technical capacities and good practices in logistics and strengthen the capacity of logisticians of national structures.
- Ensure a quick response to all queries entering an emergency framework.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have:
- University degree, Bachelor’s Degree 4 in logistics, transport, supply chain management and / or economics, management.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in the fields of logistics and supply chain management.
- Experience in managing complex distribution operations.
- Experience in defining and implementing distribution networks and operational procedures.
- Experience in training, knowledge transfer and capacity building activities.
- knowledge of logistical realities and transport markets in Niger.
- Ability to work in a client-focused and multi-stakeholder environment.
- Excellent command of French and good knowledge of English.
- Nationality of Niger.
