Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Operations Officer will perform the following functions-

  • Assist the CIF Manager with business planning and strategy preparation ahead of high-level engagements with external stakeholders.
  • Prepare speeches, briefings and other communication material for the CIF Manager.
  • Translate the ideas, objectives, corporate position and management principles into messaging that relates to the topic, speaker and intended audience.
  • Build strategic partnerships with key operational stakeholders, including UN entities and Funds.
  • Liaise and maintain strong relations with existing and potential donors and other CIF stakeholders.
  • Prepare substantive briefs on possible areas of cooperation, and support resource mobilization efforts.
  • Provide substantive support on the development of proposed strategic and policy papers for submission to the CIF Governing Bodies.
  • Coordinate CIF’s engagement at key global events, including the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
  • Coordinate the production of CIF policy/issues briefs ahead of major global events.
  • Coordinate with technical teams to ensure timely and high-quality responses on requests for briefs and updates to Senior Management, and other day-to-day senior management requests.

Applicants must have-

  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. economics, management, business administration, social sciences, technical studies, or another field related to development).
  • 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrate understanding of working in international organizations.
  • Demonstrate strong integrative thinking and ability to support project teams in developing an integrated point of view around development challenges.
  • Demonstrate ability to seek out, collate and synthesize inputs from across sectoral and thematic boundaries.
  • Identify and assesses policy issues and communicates findings/ points of view verbally and through reports and papers.
  • Can play an active role in the dialogue with government and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates ability to contribute to development and implementation of communication strategies.
  • Understand policy making processes.
  • Find relevant information/data and examines similar policy questions in multiple regions.
  • Tailor communication style to meet audience needs and delivers information effectively in support of team or workgroup.
