Programme and Communication Officer at UNOPS, Bangui, Central African Republic

United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Programme and Communication Officer in Bangui, Central African Republic. The duration of this post is 12 months.

UNOPS mission is to serve people in need by expanding the ability of the United Nations, governments and other partners to manage projects, infrastructure, and procurement in a sustainable and efficient manner.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Programme and Communication Officer will perform the following functions-

  • Prepare draft budgets and project proposals for new projects and extensions of ongoing projects as required by the Programme Manager.
  • Produce routine and ad-hoc reports including but not limited to: periodic substantive reports for UNMAS HQ against donor contributions, projects and activities, Financial Agreements, Annual Partner Reports, Results Based Reports (RBR), SG Mine Action Report, and any other relevant report required.
  • Prepare donor reports and funding proposals, including ad-hoc reports as required.
  • Provide programme information to partner agencies, non-governmental organizations, contractors and UN agencies.
  • Contribute to Programme team’s efforts in resource mobilization and in building and maintaining a network of key partners and contacts among the donor community, and keeping abreast of evolving trends in the country that are relevant to UNMAS CAR.
  • Prepare periodic financial reports to local authorities as required.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • Advanced University Degree (Master’s Degree or equivalent) in business administration, project management, social science or related field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • A first level University degree (Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent) in business administration, project management, social science or related field with 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Relevant experience is defined as experience international relations, programme management, project management or business administration.
  • Experience working with United Nations or international NGO is desired.
