United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is currently seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Programme Officer in Beni, Democratic Republic of Congo.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Programme Officer will perform the following functions:
- Manage outpost team in coordination and under the guidance of the Senior Coordinator East and provides effective supervision of staff and management of UNICEF assets.
- Provide professional technical assistance in the preparation of the Situation Analysis for programme development and management by collecting and analyzing data ensuring effective implementation and monitoring progress as well as results.
- Monitor programme implementation progress timeliness and compliance.
- Monitor the allocation and disbursement of programme funds verifies that funds are properly utilized and liquidated.
- Take appropriate recommendations or actions to optimize use of programme funds.
- Undertake field visits to monitor and assess programme implementation and decides on required corrective action.
- Facilitate partnership and collaboration with internal and external counterparts including those of the UN and national and provincial partners in order to improve the ability to collect and disseminate development data and information exchange information on programme/project status and implementation and movement/distribution of supplies.
- Provide government authorities at the provincial level with technical assistance and supports in planning and organizing activities for the purpose of capacity building and programme sustainability.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have:
- University Degree in one of the following fields is required Social Sciences, International Relations, Government, Public Administration, Public Policy, Social Policy, Social Development, Community Development, or another relevant technical field.
- Minimum 2 year’s professional work experience is required in the relevant areas including programme design planning and implementation management and evaluation of programme/project activities.
- Field work experience and background/familiarity with emergency response would be strong assets.
- Fluency in French and English is required.
- Knowledge of another UN language or local knowledge of the duty station is considered as an asset.
- Nationality of Democratic Republic of Congo.
