Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Senior Communication and Liaison Associate will perform the following functions-

  • Provide analysis on Partner strategies, globally, thematically and locally (with all European Union and selected Member States institutions); prepare background information and documentation, update data relevant to the EU and compile background material.
  • Disseminate relevant information to field offices.
  • Support the engagement with Partner institutions, and support head of office in preparation of meetings with Partner.
  • Provide assistance to colleagues during formulation and contracting of EU project proposals, review reports, upon request.
  • Support the coordination with other UN agencies vis a vis the Partner institutions, including assistance in the formulation of joint programme strategies.
  • Support the preparation of field visits.

Applicants must have-

  • High school degree required.
  • Master degree in Development Studies, Political Sciences, Public Administration, Communication or a related field from an accredited university will be considered a significant asset and can compensate for some of the required years of experience.
  • With a masters, at least 2 years of relevant working experience required at national or international level, with a focus on Communication & Advocacy.
  • Previous working experience with/in a UN agency or the EU institutions will be an asset.
  • Previous experience in Brussels will be an asset.
  • Fluency in English and French are required.
