World Health Organization (WHO) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Senior Health Advise in Geneva, Switzerland. The duration of this post is 12 months.

The primary role of WHO is to direct and coordinate international health within the United Nations system.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Senior Health Advise will perform the following-

  • Assist the Coordinator overseeing secretariat support to UHC2030.
  • Represent UHC2030 and WHO in inter-agency meetings on health systems strengthening for UHC, and effective development cooperation.
  • Provide expert policy and technical inputs on the UHC2030 work program priorities, in areas such as advocacy, accountability, knowledge sharing and communication.
  • Oversee the production of key UHC2030 reports related to accountability for progress towards UHC and undertake selected pieces of analytical work on health systems strengthening and effective development cooperation in health.
  • Lead preparation of technical sessions at major UHC2030 events and coordinate support to UHC2030 working groups. Stimulate discussion within UHC2030 on health SDG financing, tracking debates on development finance, policy reforms and institutional development in the context of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • An advanced level university degree (Master’s level or above) in public health, health economics, or social, behavioral or managerial sciences.
  • Postgraduate training in management and administration, if not included in the above.
  • At least 10 years progressive and relevant experience in health with an emphasis on health policy and systems development, including financing, planning and management at national and international levels, and health partnerships.
  • Expert knowledge of English.
