World Health Organization (WHO) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Specialist, Health Systems and Services in Montevideo, Uruguay. The duration of this post is 1 year.
The primary role of WHO is to direct and coordinate international health within the United Nations system.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Specialist, Health Systems and Services will perform the following functions-
- Provide technical assistance to the Ministry of Public Health and other government institution in the formulation, implementation and evaluation of policy, strategy and plan for human resource development in health.
- Provide technical support to national institution on the development, implementation, and evaluation of technical cooperation program in the area of health governance, health policy and system development, health service organization and management supporting universal health.
- Provide technical assistance to the organization of the National Integrated Health System on matter related to health service development, integrated health care delivery network, quality of care, patient safety and inter-programmatic initiative on family, gender and life course.
- Provide technical support on national policy on medicine and technology with an intersectoral and interdisciplinary approach.
- Provide technical support to respective national authority on regulation and management of high cost procedure and medicine.
- Provide technical support to respective national authority on regulation and management of high cost procedure and medicine.
- Collaborate on interprogrammatic initiative with other technical unit.
- Participate in the United Nations Country Team (UNCT) inter-agency group and task force.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Bachelor’s degree in a health or social science from a recognized university.
- 3 years of professional experience in the area of health systems, including technical cooperation in institutions concerned with public health management or evaluation of health systems and services.
- Work experience in the field of health systems and services planning and administration would be an asset.
- Very good knowledge of Spanish with a working knowledge of English.
