The purpose of a Monitoring & Evaluation Assistant Position is to contribute with specific technical competences to project implementation.

NRC provides assistance, protection and durable solutions to refugees and internally displaced persons worldwide.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The M&E Assistant will perform the following functions:

  • Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines.
  • Assist a range of support with the implementation of the CC portfolio according to plan of action.
  • Implements independently procedures and activities within own function or core competency as delegated.
  • Responsible for organizing and delivery of tasks in line with priorities and standards.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of the specialist area of work in which technical assistance and support is being provided, in order to be most effective in supporting the team.
  • Use initiative in day to day problem solving in line with agreed procedures, priorities and standards for the area of work.
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management.
  • Ensure proper filing of documents.
  • Requires travel to field locations.
  • Regular Report to Monitoring and Evaluation Officer.
  • Any other reasonable tasks as instructed by M&E Officer.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in BMS , BSc in statistics or Math degree or certificate.
  • 2-3 years of active professional experience in humanitarian sector, preferably in monitoring and evaluation, preferably under emergency or post-conflict setting.
  • Knowledge and experience within a relevant administration, craft or technical field and ideally a relevant vocational qualification.
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to transfer knowledge to diverse audiences through training, mentoring and other formal and non-formal methods.
  • Oral and written English communication skills.
  • Computer skills, including MS Office (Power point, Word, Excel, Access).
  • Nationality of Afghanistan.
