Agriculture Team Leader at WVI, Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo

World Vision International (WVI) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Agriculture Team Leader in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo. The duration of this post is 1 to 2 years.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Agriculture Team Leader will perform the following functions:

  • Participation in different research, Baseline, varietal trials, agricultural surveys at the beginning of the project and share the results with the supervisors.
  • Development and management of functional organizations (farmer field schools (CEP), BXW supervisory committee, seed agro-multiplier groups, para-veterinarians, solidarity mutuals (MUSO) agricultural cooperatives, platforms, micro-enterprises agricultural, micro-credit associations, young entrepreneurs and savings, association of agro-business producers, agro-processors …).
  • Capacity building of the team under his supervision by strengthening their capacities according to their need for technical training.
  • Collaborate closely with state and parastatal and private partners (MINAGRI, IPAPEL, SENASEM, INERA, IITA, CARG, local authorities, civil society, etc.).
  • Collaborate closely with Deputy Chief of Party (DCoP) to submit cash request, Field Requisition to Support Departments.
  • Supervise the team under his supervision and responsible for assessing the performance of his team.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have:

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in economics (if necessary rural economy) and other sciences such as management, agronomy and social sciences.
  • Minimum 4 years in team management also multidisciplinary project especially in agricultural value chains or others in NGOs or companies.
  • 3 years of experience in international NGOs.
  • Desired experience in managing agricultural and other development projects or programs.
  • Structuring of grassroots development organizations in rural areas.
  • In-depth knowledge in the analysis and development of agricultural studies (variety trials, market research and others.
  • Bachelor’s degree in agroeconomy or rural economy.
