The International Labour Organization (ILO) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Communications Officer in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The duration of this post is 12 months.
The mission of the ILO is to promote rights at work, encourage decent employment opportunities, enhance social protection and strengthen dialogue on work-related issues.
Key Job Responsibilities:
The Communications Officer will perform the following functions:
- Public Communications
- On own initiative, prepare, design and layout press articles, correspondence, summary reports and briefs for media representatives and constituents as required and draw the attention of the supervisor to matters requiring immediate attention and/or follow up.
- Social Media
- Adhering to ILO guidelines; strengthen the visibility of BWB by increasing social media outreach to stakeholders.
- Communications and Advocacy Activities
- Define key issues, messaging and communications channels for public advocacy initiatives.
- Administration
- Take responsibility for sub-contracting arrangements and coordinate with external contract providers within areas of responsibility.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have:
- University Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related fields
- At least 2 years’ experience working in public relations, communications, marketing communications, and/or advocacy with a multilateral or international organization, the private sector, or governmental bodies.
- Excellent English and Bengali.
