World Food Programme (WFP) is currently seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Procurement Associate in Baghdad, Iraq.

The Procurement Associate will provide coordination, administrative services and research to support the efficient and effective procurement services.

World Food Programme is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Procurement Associate will perform the following functions-

  • Identify and recommend potential supplier, and compile data/document to support the selection of supplier, ensuring standard process are followed.
  • Review, record and prioritise purchasing request, and provide support to requisitioner, in order to support the procurement of appropriate good and service, at lowest cost to WFP.
  • Contribute to negotiation with new supplier on term and condition of order, alongside a senior officer, in order to obtain the best term and lowest cost for WFP.
  • Prepare Purchase Order, contract and any supporting documentation for approval by the appropriate stakeholder, and approve purchase within delegated authority, to enable the swift purchase of good and service.
  • Resolve issue related to delivered good, using initiative, liaising with all party and following standard process, to ensure timely and accurate resolution of problem.
  • Research, collect and analyse data in order to produce report to enable informed decision-making by Procurement Officer, and consistency of information presented to stakeholder.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • University degree, business, law, commerce or any relevant professional qualification in procurement
  • At least 3 years of work experience in procurment or related field.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic languages.
