United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Project Procurement Officer in Kuwait City, Kuwait. The duration of this post is 1 year.

UNDP works in nearly 170 countries and territories, helping to achieve the eradication of poverty, and the reduction of inequalities and exclusion.

Key Job Responsibilities

The Project Procurement Officer will perform the following functions-

  • Full compliance of procurement activity of the ICDI and with UN/UNDP rule, regulation, policy and strategy; implementation of the effective internal control, proper functioning of a client-oriented procurement management system.
  • Project Procurement business process mapping and elaboration of the content of internal Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) in Procurement and Logistics, control of the workflow in the Procurement Unit.
  • Elaboration of proposal and implementation of cost saving and reduction strategy in consultation with UNDP Operations Manager.
  • Provision tendering processs and evaluation, managing the contract and contractor, legal consideration and payment condition, sourcing strategy, supplier selection and evaluation, quality management, e-procurement and using PRMPT procurement platform.
  • Preparation of procurement plan for the GSSCPD and the ICDI project and their implementation monitoring.
  • Preparation of Purchase order and contract in and outside Atla, preparation of Recurring Purchase order for contracting of service, vendor creation in Atlas.
  • Review of procurement process conducted by GSSCPD project; submission to the Contract, Asset and Procurement Committee (CAP) and Advisory Committee on Procurement (ACP).
  • Implementation of the internal control system which ensure that Purchase order are duly prepared and dispatched.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or any other related discipline.
  • 4 years of progressively responsible administrative experience is required at the national or international level.
  • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc), advance knowledge of automated procurement systems, experience in handling of web based management systems.
  • Experience in working and collaborating within governments is an asset.
  • Fluency in the Arabic and English (Written and Spoken).
