Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of National Legal Specialist in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The duration of this post is 8 months.

Key Job Responsibilities
The National Legal Specialist will perform the following functions-
- Develop a work plan for the consultancy including timeframes for regular updates to the national coordinator, legal and policy international consultants and HQ technical and legal advisors.
- Conduct an assessment focused on the existing legal and policy framework in Cambodia in accordance with provided guidance, including.
- Prepare a PPT presentation with the main findings of the analysis and recommendations.
- Support the formulation of relevant legislation upon request (e.g. integration of NGS into legislation).
- Present the legal analysis and proposed legislation (if applicable) to the pertinent authorities, at FAO’s request.
- Provide technical input to an outline of short manuals with global guidance on how to integrate school meal NGS within legal and policy frameworks.
- Participate in regular project meetings at the country and global levels.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicant must have:
- Advanced University Degree in law.
- At least 5 year’s relevant working experience in analysis policy of policy and legal frameworks (experience in food/nutrition and health law will be given priority consideration).
- Working knowledge of English and Khmer.
- Nationality of Cambodia.
