United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Programme Officer in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The duration of this post is 1 year.
UNOPS mission is to serve people in need by expanding the ability of the United Nations, governments and other partners to manage projects, infrastructure and procurement in a sustainable and efficient manner.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Programme Officer will perform the following functions-
- Design, implement and coordinate the refinement of the NFM and RAI-Global Fund Malaria grants.
- Coordinate and facilitate all related activities with partners in malaria grant/s implementation.
- Review work plans and reports submitted by the PIP and SRs and ensure that they are sound and in line with the national programme, the NFM and RAI Concept Note and the funding policy and strategies and reflect gender issues as appropriate.
- Assist in the analysis of activities undertaken by NGOs in coordination with PIP-CNM and identify measures to harmonise and scale up NGO activities through GF grants.
- Technically support CNM, PHDs, ODs and SRs in program implementation, capacity building and quality assurance activities.
- Work from CNM office for a minimum of three days a week to provide day to day support in planning, implementation and management of malaria grants activities.
- Participate in monitoring, supervision and oversight activities carried out by the PR and follow up on recommendations for improvement at various levels.
- Work closely with PIP-CNM on enhancing the capacities of health centers technical staff in malaria case management and surveillance activities.
- Promote information sharing in all aspects related to malaria in Cambodia.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Advanced University Degree (Master’s or equivalent) Medical & Health Sciences, in Public Health, Epidemiology or other related field.
- University Degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in Medical & Health Sciences, in Public Health, Epidemiology or other related field in combination with additional 2 years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of Master’s degree.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in the Malaria prevention, treatment, care, support as well as Malaria program management, capacity development and implementation.
- 2 additional years of experience will be required for candidates who only have a Bachelor degree.
- Previous experience in malaria control operations.
- Previous experience in community based malaria surveys and community based malaria program implementation experience.
- Previous experience in capacity development activities related to malaria control and case management.
- Previous experience in project/programme management.
- Previous experience in M&E and data management in the health sector.
- Previous GFATM experience could be a plus.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and Khmer is required.
