United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Chief Field Office in Bertoua, Cameroon.
The Chief Field Office will be responsible for the overall coordination and management of the programme commitment in Adamaoua and Eastern regions of Cameroon with a broad range of projects, including programme/project formulation, design, planning and management focused on achievement of UNICEF’s Organizational priorities.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Chief Field Office will perform the following functions-
- Ensure that area/country programmes in the zone are supported by knowledge management through data collection and analysis, complete and accurate reporting as well as participation in the Programme Knowledge Network system of “lessons learned” and other corporate-level databases.
- Participate in information exchange through donor and media visits as well as in the development of training and orientation material.
- Establish programme work plans, monitors compliance and provides training, support and guidance to the programme team in order to meet objectives.
- Identify human resources requirements and on-going staff development needs.
- Review and evaluate the technical, institutional and financial feasibility and constraints of programme/projects in collaboration with Government and other partners.
- Establish and supervise programme work plans and monitor progress and compliance.
- Undertake field visits to monitor and assess programme implementation and decides on required corrective action.
- Adopt rights-based programmes approach in the formulation of programme goals and objectives and development of strategies and implementation frameworks.
- Provide government authorities with technical supports and guidance to plan and organize training programmes for the purpose of capacity building and programme sustainability.
- Conduct policy analysis from a children’s and women’s rights perspective and advocacy at the government, community and family levels for elevating credibility in national and international policy debates.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Advanced university degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Government, Public Administration, Public Policy, Social Policy, Social Development, Community Development or other relevant disciplines with specialized training in conflict resolution.
- University degree (Bachelor’s Degree) in the above fields of studies combined with 2 additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
- 8 years of professional work experience.
- Fluency in English and another UN official language.
