United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Information Management Officer in Kabul, Afghanistan.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Information Management Officer will perform the following functions-

  • Support and supervise or co-supervise data related MoPH National Technical Assistants (NTAs) (including the EHIS, HMIS, ‘Scorecard’ NTAs).
  • Ensure monthly plans for skills transfer to MoPH and DoPH departments are implemented.
  • Support MoPH to collect, collate and track monthly reports from implementing partners and analyse data.
  • Coordinate with HMIS to ensure relevant health indicators are integrated in the HMIS system, including through the HMIS revision exercise to ensure alignment with globally recommended RMNCAH and EPI indicators and definitions.
  • Strengthen and support RMNCAH and balanced scorecards, DHIS2 and HMIS systems and new innovations.
  • Represent UNICEF at relevant meetings at the national level including HMIS, national surveys, civil registration and vital statistics (CVRS) and maternal, perinatal surveillance and death reviews (MNDSR).

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • University degree in computer science, information systems, data science, statistics, or mathematics; or medicine, nursing or related health sciences, preferably at an advanced level, in a subject area relevant to information management.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant professional work experience in information and data management especially using MS Excel is required.
  • Experience with UN, Government or NGOs, including information management for Cluster or Sector coordination, or researching, monitoring, and evaluation for health programmes strongly preferred.
  • Fluency in English and at least one local language (Dari or Pashto) is required.
  • Nationality of Afghanistan.
