United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Regional Project Coordinator in Bangkok, Thailand. The duration of this post is 1 year.

UNOPS mission is to serve people in need by expanding the ability of the United Nations, governments and other partners to manage projects, infrastructure, and procurement in a sustainable and efficient manner.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Regional Project Coordinator will perform the following functions-

  • Review and update the work plan for effective implementation of the project;
  • Support project management with stakeholders and partners (NGOs, private consultants, and contracting companies);
  • Assist in determining capacity gaps and support capacity development of government and/or non-governmental partners in close coordination with the donor;
  • Review and provide inputs for M&E activities to track progress and evaluate results;
  • Facilitate project closure, handover, and manage quarterly reporting to the donor.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • Minimum of master’s degree in marine biology, ecology or marine fisheries or relevant field required.
  • Emphasis on biological communities and demonstrated experience in tropical coastal habitats and resource management is highly desirable.
  • A Bachelor’s degree combined with 2 additional years of relevant professional experience may be accepted in lieu of the Master degree.
  • Demonstrated competence in the management of large multi-country, multi-disciplinary, GEF projects highly desirable.
  • A successful track record in leading the formulation of large multi-lateral, intergovernmental programmes and projects relating to coastal and marine resource management in developing country contexts is desired.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required; working knowledge of other United Nations languages and regional languages is an asset.
