Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Associate Economics Officer will perform the following functions-

  • Support the preparation of economic analysis (cost-benefit analysis) for PSOD infrastructure projects supporting the justification of ADB funding, and following ADBs Guidelines for the Economic Analysis of Projects using existing excel cashflow models.
  • Provide support to PSOD’s project teams in defining suitable indicators to reflect development, and suggests suitable labels and classifications like inclusive business, SDGs, subsectors or poverty classifications.
  • Follow up on pending monitoring reports and records data provision.
  • Review data provided, follows up on missing or poor data, and documents and aggregates development effectiveness data reported by on-going projects.
  • Participate in sector and thematic networks to keep abreast of latest developments and issues of relevance to PSOD.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • University degree in economics, finance, business administration or related fields.
  • At least 6 years of relevant professional experience in cost-benefit analysis and development impact assessments.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and preferably familiar with Excel Power BI and MS Access .
  • Excellent skills in data collection and processing, experience in data governance and the use of advanced data processing and visualization tools.
  • Good understanding of project preparation and processing and the project cycle for private sector operations projects.
  • Basic knowledge of at least one sector relevant to ADB’s projects, preferably in renewable energy, small and medium enterprise or finance sector.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
