PME Specialist at UNICEF, Lilongwe, Malawi

United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of PME Specialist in Lilongwe, Malawi.

The PME Specialist will  provide professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the planning, monitoring, evaluation process preparing, executing, managing and implementing a variety of technical and administrative tasks to contribute to planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the country programme.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The PME Specialist will perform the following functions-

  • Provide technical support as necessary to the process of developing and monitoring Annual Work Plan, including reporting on progress of the equity and gender marker as outlined in the Programme Policy and Procedure Guidance
  • Provide technical support as necessary in organising and managing annual/mid-year/mid-term/end term country programme review ensuring consistency with objective and goal set out in the CPD and contribute to the Annual Management Plan.
  • Monitor follow-up action based on management decision resulting from Country Office performance monitoring and evaluation.
  • Support the programme component to effectively monitor and report on the intersectoral programme result, cross sectoral programme component result and field office result to facilitate programme coherence and convergence where appropriate.
  • Contribute to development of programme monitoring framework for the learning zone including technical backstopping to the field team for convergent programming.
  • Support decentralised planning and monitoring process to ensure that national priority respond to local need and plan are evidence based and are monitored.
  • Support effective participatory feedback, including to community and civil society stakeholder.
  • Contribute to UNDAF planning process to ensure that UNICEF contribution toward UN-wide result are clearly articulated.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • University degree in social sciences, economics statistics, demography business or public administration.
  • University degree in social sciences, economics, statistics, demography, business or public administration development management in combination with additional 3 years of experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • 5 years of relevant professional work experience in programme development and implementation including monitoring activities, experience with strategic planning will be an asset
  • Fluency in English and another UN language.
