The World Bank Group (WBG) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Senior Economist in Washington, D.C., United States.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Senior Economist will perform the following functions-

  • Provide overall strategic guidance on the scope and implementation of the DMF.
  • Lead the DMF Secretariat, which is responsible for the coordination with donors and implementing partners.
  • Lead the organization of the Annual Stakeholders’ Forum and the preparation of key analytical reports on debt.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the DMF and ensure the timely implementation of the DMF work program in close collaboration with the DMF’s implementing partners’, including the IMF.
  • Knowledge management on issues related to debt management, debt sustainability, contingent liability, and liquidity risk management, including production of working papers.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • Minimum of a Master’s degree (Ph.d. preferred) in economics with at least 8 years of relevant professional experience including a track record of delivery of high quality analytical and advisory products.
  • Experience in 2 regions, a corporate assignment or similar experience that builds global expertise and client facing skills.
  • Strong analytical skills in macroeconomic and fiscal management and proven ability to conduct policy-relevant research.
  • In-depth knowledge of Bank lending tools, operations and procedures.
  • Integrates divergent viewpoints of multiple external and internal stakeholders into a coherentrogram.
