The Senior Regional Cooperation Specialist will contribute to the development of strategies and approaches to promote regional cooperation and integration (RCI) and support the implementation of ADB’s RCI strategy, provide support for the identification, design, processing, and administration of regional technical assistance (TA) projects; and work with broad policies and objectives, working directly with clients, with supervision for critical tasks.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Senior Regional Cooperation Specialist will perform the following functions-

  • Identify new directions and approaches to improve ADB’s capacity for supporting RCI.
  • Contribute to new or innovative approaches to operational issues.
  • Support the Bank-wide implementation of ADB’s RCI strategy, including reviewing regional TA papers, regional cooperation strategy, and other documents to ensure consistency with priorities in the strategy.
  • Develop, process, and implement regional TA projects for ADB’s developing member countries (DMCs) that promote regional economic cooperation and integration.
  • Provide support to ADB Management and other departments on RCI and related matters.
  • Undertake economic and sector work on issues related to second generation regional economic cooperation and integration, and related knowledge sharing activities.
  • Liaise with DMC Governments, regional institutions, and international institutions on regional economic cooperation and integration issues.
  • Provide leadership and support to reporting staff.
  • Supervise the performance of reporting staff, providing clear direction and regular monitoring and feedback on performance.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • Master’s Degree in Economics, Finance, or related fields; or University Degree in Economics, Finance, or related fields
  • Suitability to undertake the responsibilities mentioned above at the required level
  • At least 10 years of relevant professional experience in project administration, fund management, development planning, or other related areas, preferably with experience in a multilateral development organization
  • Good understanding of ADB’s institutional context, strategies, priorities, and objectives particularly on RCI.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • International experience working in development in several countries
