The World Bank Group (WBG) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Water Resources Management Specialist in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Water Resources Management Specialist will perform the following functions-

  • The appointee will report to the Practice Manager and will work, out of the World Bank Sofia office, closely with staff from the unit and beyond located across ECA and in Washington DC, in particular the co-TTLs and senior staff based in Sofia, Bulgaria.
  • Support the co-TTLs in the project stocktaking and preparation phase, including establishment of overall project implementation arrangements.
  • Assist in the preparation of an inception report for the project, including in gathering and review of existing project related information, data, studies, etc.
  • Support the task leadership during the delivery of this RAS assignment providing local water sector and environmental knowledge.
  • Provide overall coordination of the project activities under the project components 1 and 2, related to the preparation of RBMPs and FRMPs.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • Master’s degree in water or environmental engineering, economics, water resources management, or other fields relevant for water sector development.
  • 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrates basic understanding of water resources planning, management and development, with depth in at least one subtopic and relevant experience applying this knowledge to operations, analytical work, and other deliverables.
  • Nationality of Bulgaria.
