The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Technical Assistant in Quito, Ecuador.
IUCN provides public, private and non-governmental organizations with the knowledge and tools that enable human progress, economic development and nature conservation to take place together.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Technical assistant will perform the following functions-
- Review of the documentation generated by the project (s).
- Review secondary information about the area of intervention and other issues of interest to the project (s).
- Support the organization of local, national and regional meetings and workshops of the project (s).
- Prepare technical documents, reports of events, reports and other documents of the project (s).
- Support in the production of content to generate communication products of the project (s).
- Analyze contents of technical-scientific publications on related topics to facilitate decision-making within the project and /or prepare technical documents.
- Assist and support the Senior Program Officer and Program Officers in other tasks delegated to them.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have:
- Professional in the field of natural and/or social sciences, in topics related to the management of natural resources, water, climate change, management and conservation of forests and nature, sustainable development, ecosystem services and related issues.
- Knowledge of the socio-environmental reality of South America.
- Knowledge in project management (planning, management, administration, evaluation).
- Availability to travel inside and outside the country when the organization requires it.
- Experience in the planning and organization of events.
- Experience in research and methodological aspects of research.
- Capacity for planning, prioritization and execution of tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal expression.
- Nationality of Ecuador.
