United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Head, Global Policy and Innovation in Geneva, Switzerland. The duration of this post is 1 year.

UNOPS mission is to serve people in need by expanding the ability of the United Nations, governments and other partners to manage projects, infrastructure, and procurement in a sustainable and efficient manner.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Head, Global Policy and Innovation will perform the following functions-

  • Under the guidance of the DED leads the development of the Council’s global advocacy strategy especially in regards to the promotion of sanitation and hygiene as a means to achieve SDG 6.2 but and other related sustainable development goals.
  • Lead the policy dialogue between the Council and global partners, raising the profile of sanitation and hygiene issues and their relevance to the broad sustainable development agenda and promoting the opportunities for working with the council.
  • Based on evidence learned and innovations generated by the Council’s in-country work, raises the awareness of water sanitation and hygiene within the main global actors involved in the implementation of the sustainable development goals, including the UN System.
  • Advocate for a better global understanding of the linkages between the water sanitation and hygiene targets of the sustainable development goal 6, and related SDGs.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • Master’s degree in social sciences, environmental policy, public health, international affairs, political sciences, development or related field is required.
  • Minimum 10 years relevant professional experience in international development or policy and advocacy, innovation or programme/project management or related sectors is required.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English is required.
  • Working knowledge of French is desirable.
