Asian Development Bank (ADB) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Regional Director in Suva, Fiji. The duration of this post is 3 years.

The ADB aims for an Asia and Pacific free from poverty.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Regional Director will perform the following functions-

  • Lead, establish and cascade SPSO’s vision, goals, priorities, development strategies and key result areas (KRAs) in support of ADB’s goals, departmental goals and in compliance with ADB policies.
  • Provide leadership to SPSO staff; identify, develop, and encourage excellence in day-to-day SPSO operations; and exercise effective management in the context of supervising SPSO staff, facilities, and resources.
  • Oversee the quality of support for the Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) and updates and ensure the effective functioning of related teams, committees and networks, including background work on thematic, economic and sector work relating to the CPS and Country Operational Business Plans (COBPs).

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • Master’s Degree, or equivalent, in Economics, Development Studies, or relevant fields.
  • Alternatively, university degree in related fields combined with additional relevant experience can be considered.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant professional experience including international work experience.
  • Project management experience in the Pacific region, notably in one of the countries covered by SPSO (Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Samoa, Tonga and Tuvalu) is an advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English is required.
