Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Senior Financial Sector Specialist will perform the following functions-

  • Provide assistance to regional teams and partners in designing and implementing disaster risk finance projects by contributing to analytical work and policy dialogue.
  • Support clients with tools/approaches/solutions to strengthen public financial management of natural disasters.
  • Lead the technical assistance program of the Pacific Catastrophe Risk Financing and Insurance to capture and disseminate knowledge and best practice through supporting collaboration with global and regional partners and contribute to learning events (workshops, training courses, and distance-learning events).
  • Provide support to the design and implementation of the tropical cyclone household insurance product against tropical cyclones in Fiji and other countries as they express interest.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • Demonstrate in depth knowledge and understanding of project management tools & methodologies, ideally (for internal candidates) including of Bank instruments and processes related to project preparation & implementation, resource management, and stakeholder communications.
  • Demonstrate broad knowledge of economic policy development; demonstrates strong analytical skills & writing ability to help identify and assess policy issues in support of policy dialogue.
  • Ability to coordinate, participate in, and act as a catalyst for, strategic cross-sector dialogues within the network, across the country, among Bank colleagues and other development institutions, government, and other organizations.
  • Nationality of Fiji.
