World Health Organization (WHO) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Medical Officer in Libreville, Gabon. The duration of this post is 2 year.
The primary role of WHO is to direct and coordinate international health within the United Nations system.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Medical Officer will perform the following functions-
- To provide technical support, advice and guidance to countries on the development, implementation and scaling up of interventions, policies and guidelines in Tuberculosis prevention and case management including in surveillance, monitoring and evaluation.
- This include critically reviewing, analyzing and using evidence-based data for policy formulation and research promotion to improve availability of TB testing and case management tools, interventions and approaches.
- To technically advise countries and partners at the regional and sub-regional levels on, and participate in the development, updating, and proactive implementation of, guidelines, norms and standards for TB Prevention and Case management, including Epidemiology, in close cooperation with the TB Team at the Regional Office.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Advanced university degree in Public Health, Paediatric Health, Child Development, Child Health, Nutrition, Epidemiology, Public Administration, Social Policy, Social Development, Community Development, or other relevant disciplines.
- 5 years of professional work experience at the national levels- in planning, programming, implementation monitoring and evaluation of health/Immunization programmes.
- Professional field work experience.
- Background/familiarity with Emergency.
- Fluency in English and Portuguese.
