United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of National Health Officer in Romania.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The National Health Officer will perform the following functions-

  • Research and analyze regional/national political, social and economic development trends. Collect, analyze, verify and synthesize information to facilitate program development, design and preparation.
  • Prepare technical reports and inputs for program preparation and documentation ensuring accuracy, timeliness and relevancy of information.
  • Facilitate the development/establishment of sectoral program goals, objectives and strategies and results-based planning through analysis of health needs and areas for intervention and submission of assessments for priority and goal setting.
  • Provide technical and administrative support throughout all stages of programming processes by executing/administering a variety of technical program transactions, preparing materials/documentations and complying with organizational processes and management systems, to support program planning, results based planning (RBM) and monitoring and evaluating results.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • A university degree in public health/nutrition, pediatric health, family health, health research, global/international health, health policy and management, environmental health sciences, biostatistics, socio-medical, health education, epidemiology, social sciences, or other relevant disciplines is required.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant professional experience in public health/nutrition planning and management and in relevant areas of maternal and neonatal health care, social development, health emergency/humanitarian preparedness; additional years of experience would be a strong asset.
  • Experience in designing and implementing programmes targeting adolescent health and project management experience will be considered an asset.
  • Previous exposure to UN system or another international organization in a developing country is an advantage.
  • Fluency in English and Romanian is required.
  • Nationality of Romania.
