World Health Organisation (WHO) is currently seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of National Professional Officer in Rabat, Morocco. The duration of this post is 1 year.
The primary role of WHO is to direct and coordinate international health within the United Nations system.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The National Professional Officer will perform following functions-
- Collaborate, with technical leads and national authorities to develop joint action plan for the Japan UHC grant.
- Manage the planning and implementation of activities included in the work plan of Japan UHC grant and related WHO-supported programmes with the aim to reach universal health coverage.
- Develop summarized technical and analytical documents for the assigned national programmes.
- Coordinate the analysis, consolidation, timely preparation and dissemination of technical briefs, background documents and other relevant materials.
- Participate effectively in task forces, thematic groups and other similar forums serving WHO technical support to the country in the area of UHC.
- Conduct assessment, monitoring and evaluation to the project and prepare progress reports, briefings, proposals, communications and advocacy documents required for strategic decision making.
- Attend various workshops and meetings, coordinate relevant activities, ensure predictable follow-up on agreed action points with relevant stakeholders.
- Identify needed external technical support and ensure proper and timely handling and monitoring of consultant’s briefing, agenda, and facilitation of the missions, evaluation and follow up on recommendations relevant to health system strengthening.
- Perform other UHC-related activities as requested.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- University Degree in Medicine, Public Health or any health related field.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in the field of Public Health at the national level.
- Excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of UHC.
- Expertise in health financing.
- Demonstrated ability to assess, plan, coordinate and monitor related activities.
- Sound knowledge of public health issues and Results-Based Management
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with partners
- Demonstrated capacity to write technical documents in a clear and concise manner
- Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and produce results under pressure.
- Expert knowledge of English, French and Arabic.
- Nationality of Morocco.
