National Professional Officer (Public Health) at WHO, Syria

World Health Organization (WHO) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of National Professional Officer in Syria. The duration of this post is 12 months.

The primary role of WHO is to direct and coordinate international health within the United Nations system.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The National Professional Officer will perform the following functions-

  • Manage data collection and analysis, including developing and reviewing various technical report and documentation.
  • Secure information from a broad range of health sector, analysis of data and recommendation of action.
  • Coordination of team working on maintaining, assessing, improving and developing public health surveillance system and registry.
  • Design implementation, follow up and reporting on assessment relevant to the health of displaced people or other population group affected by crisis.
  • Technical review of programme plan, report, proposal and other document relevant to the programme.
  • Comprehensive qualitative and quantitative periodic report according to WHO developed indicator on activity in public health facility.
  • Manage capacity building initiative for health personnel in various health facility and also camp.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • University degree in Public Health or medicine.
  • Master degree in Public Health.
  • At least 2 years of experience required in health sector coordination at national level.
  • Experience in capacity building and demonstrate knowledge of health sector activities in the context of emergency response relief inclusive of professional work experience in planning , programming, implementation monitoring and evaluation of health programmes.
  • Very good knowledge in epidemiology.
  • Good planning and monitoring skills.
