National Professional Officer (TUB) at WHO, Harare, Zimbabwe

World Health Organization (WHO) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of National Professional Officer (TUB) in Harare, Zimbabwe. The duration of this post is 24 months.

The primary role of WHO is to direct and coordinate international health within the United Nations system.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The National Professional Officer (TUB) will perform the following-

  • Provide technical advice to MOH/ NTP programme in articulating policies and programmes that accelerate and intensify the prevention, treatment and care for TB, MDR TB, TB/HIV in order to ensure the attainment of SDG goals and the Global End TB Strategy.
  • Provide technical support in formulating and implementing localized and comprehensive national plans for implementing the WHO End TB Strategy.
  • Support the development of national TB guidelines, training materials and tools which are aligned to WHO, other international standards and best practices for implementing TB, MDR-TB, TB/HIV activities.
  • Support introduction of new TB/ MDR TB diagnostic technologies, new TB medicines through promoting policy dialogues on programme areas that require change or innovation in programme implementation.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • University degree in Medicine from a recognized university with a post graduate training in Public Health or equivalent.
  • 5 years experience at provincial or national level in planning, training, surveillance and implementation of public health activities in particular TB control.
  • Experience in writing proposals and reports
  • At least 2 years experience in HIV/AIDS control including experience in monitoring programme performance and develop mitigatory measures to address any issues.
  • Expert knowledge of English.
