Shelter Officer – Reporting at NRC, Za’atari Camp, Jordan

Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is currently seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Shelter Officer – Reporting in Za’atari Camp, Jordan.

The Shelter Officer – Reporting will support the Team Leaders in the management of the data generated from distributions and facilitate reporting and consolidation of analysis and statistics.

NRC provides assistance, protection and durable solutions to refugees and internally displaced persons worldwide.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Shelter Officer – Reporting will perform the following functions:

  • Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines.
  • Implement delegated Core Competency project portfolio according to plan of action.
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management.
  • Ensure proper filing of documents.
  • Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need, and explore and asses new and better ways to assist.
  • Promote and share ideas for technical improvement.
  • Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards & principles within NRC and amongst beneficiaries served by NRC.
  • Ensures compliance with donor reporting requirements.
  • Monitor the progress of the team activities together with key indicators and targets.
  • Coordinate Shelter Team units in order to collect coherent/standardized/comprehensive data.
  • Supports assigned staff in their data collection/reporting skills, identifies training needs, supports staff to achieve their unit reports.
  • Review indicators and targets periodically.
  • Liaise closely with M&E and Communication Unit in Amman to ensure correct indicators are being collected and communication around camp shelter activities is disseminated through the right channels and audiences.
  • Liaise with NRC Community Team in Za’atari to ensure that projects activities target the needs of beneficiaries, explores and asses new and better ways to meet their needs.
  • Identify, analyze and evaluate key processes and gaps in the reporting of the team activities and make recommendations for improvement.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have:

  • A university graduate with a minimum of 2 years previous experience in relevant field.
  • Experience working in complex and volatile contexts, experience from working within technical expertise area in a humanitarian/ recovery context.
  • Experience of working in camps and excellent IT and data management skills including experience in working with case management databases and to have experience in the fields of data management and reporting.
  • Good English Language level (Business English is a plus).
  • Nationality of Jordan.
