The Child Protection Specialist will perform following functions-

  • Support to programme/project development and planning.
  • Programme management, monitoring and delivery of results.
  • Technical and operational support to programme implementation.
  • Networking and partnership building.
  • Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building.

Applicants must have-

  • An advanced university degree in one of the following fields is required: International Development, Human Rights, Psychology, Sociology, International Law, or another relevant social science field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in social development planning and management in Child Protection related areas is required.
  • Experience in international development and humanitarian action, with focus on child protection issues specific experience in issues of transitional justice, peacebuilding and mechanism of the Security Council Resolution 1612 (MRM RSC 1612).
  • Experience working in a developing country is considered as an asset.
  • Relevant experience in programme development in Child Protection related areas in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.
  • Experience in both development and humanitarian context is consideres as an added advantage.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English is required.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian ) will be an asset.
