Key Jobs Responsibilities

The (Senior) Capacity Building and Training Economist/Specialist will perform the following functions-

  • Identify areas, issues, and specific needs for capacity building and knowledge management and sharing (under ADBI’s priorities and areas of focus).
  • Design, organize and implement effective CBT programs and evidence-based knowledge products and activities on development issues affecting ADB’s member countries.
  • Give lectures/presentations at CBT events when possible and establish strong working relationships with clients within and outside ADB through effective organization of events and dissemination of knowledge products.
  • Develop training materials, post-training documents, and possibly further training materials and knowledge management tools, including case studies, manuals, handbooks, policy briefs, e-courses, training needs assessment and evaluation.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual CBT work program and budget.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • Advanced university degree (PhD desirable but not required) in a discipline related to economic and social development in Asia and the Pacific.
  • At least 7-8 years relevant experience (10-12 for senior position), preferably working on economic development issues, capacity building and training, knowledge management, economic research and policy analysis.
  • Current or recent knowledge and understanding of the Asian Development Bank and its operations strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership and task management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills on policy issues related to development and capacity building.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in written and verbal English.
