United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Nutrition Specialist in Pyongyang, North Korea.
The Nutrition Specialist will be responsible for facilitating in-service training of health workers and service providers on an integrated preventive and treatment package of services to combat undernutrition among U5 children.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Nutrition Specialist will perform the following functions-
- Provide day-to-day technical support and facilitation of training workshops, including transferring of skills on IYCF counseling, SAM management and facilitation of collection of specific set of quality performance indicators within the context of scaling-up / geographical expansion of CMAM and IYCF services (treatment and prevention of undernutrition) and promotion of “1,000 Days in Life”.
- Conduct field monitoring and supportive supervision to the integrated CMAM and IYCF service delivery sites and provide on-the-job training to the health workers and functionaries.
- Provide technical support to MOPH and ICN on introduction and adaptation of an ‘interactive adult learning skills’ into the CMAM and IYCF integrated training programme
- Facilitate UNICEF supported nutrition interventions in coordination with WASH, food security and health programs.
- Facilitate in sector coordination via actively participating in the ‘Nutrition Sector Working Group.
- Prepare nutrition related programme/ project situation reports.
- Support bi-lateral coordination with other partners working in nutrition.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Advanced university degree in Public Health, Nutrition or other related technical field.
- Minimum 5 years of professional working experience in nutrition at national and international level.
- Experience in Community Management of Acute Malnutrition Programme and IYCF programming.
- Experience working with government agencies, local authorities, international organizations, NGOs and communities in the field of water, sanitation and participatory approaches in health and hygiene promotion.
- Fluency in English required.
- Knowledge of Korean is an asset.
