Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is currently seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Information, Counseling and Legal Assistance (ICLA) Assistant in Tehran, Iran.
The purpose of the ICLA Assistant is to assist in implementation of NRC projects and conduct multi-sectoral assessments in order to identify vulnerabilities and needs among refugee communities.
NRC provides assistance, protection and durable solutions to refugees and internally displaced persons worldwide.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The ICLA Assistant will perform the following functions:
- Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines.
- Assist with the implementation of the programme portfolio according to plan of action.
- Ensure proper filing of documents.
- Promote and share ideas for improvement of the programme function.
- Conduct interviews through field visits, home visits, over the phone communication, and other means for the purpose of multi-sectoral assessments.
- Carry out primary data collection tasks based on direct observation and interviews using Comprehensive Vulnerability Assessment Tool (CVAT).
- Communicate with the respondent(s) in simple language information such as the purpose of the data collection and NRC announcements/updates (e.g., case updates, instructions, and etc.).
- Handle questionnaire/assessment forms either on paper or through digital device and ensure coherence of collected information.
- Provide feedback and document problems in order to improve the assessment tools (e.g., CVAT) and used methodologies/procedures.

- Liaise with other NRC units, including accountability, to provide relavant reports and data requests.
- Carry out any additional duties or tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have:
- University graduate in social sciences, humanities, or other relevant major with previous experience in humanitarian/refugee context.
- Results-oriented attitude and someone with a highly level of energy.
- Experience working in complex and volatile contexts, in particular in the Middle East.
- Experience working with data entry tasks and databases tools.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
- Nationality of Iran.
