United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is currently seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Child Protection Officer in Male, Maldives.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Child Protection Officer will perform the following functions:
- Support to programme development and planning
- Provide technical and administrative support throughout all stages of Child protection programming processes by executing/administering a variety of technical and programme transactions, preparing materials/documentations, and complying with organizational processes and management systems, to support gender-sensitive programme planning, results-based planning (RBM) and monitoring and evaluation of results.
- Technical and operational support to programme implementation
- Undertake field visits and surveys, with a child rights and gender lens, and collect and share reports with partners and stakeholders.
- Networking and partnership building
- Lead in key meetings with national and international actors for the development of national referral mechanisms, in line with gender equality principles.
- Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building
- Identify, capture, synthesize, and share lessons learned for knowledge development and to build the capacity of stakeholders to protect children against any kind of violence, abuse and neglect, applying gender sensitive strategies.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have:
- University Degree in one of the following fields is required international development, human rights, psychology, sociology, international law, or another relevant social science field.
- Minimum 1 year’s professional experience in social development planning and management in child protection related areas and gender mainstreaming in programming is required.
- Experience working in a developing country is considered as an asset.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of another official UN language or local language of the duty station is considered as an asset.
