United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Communications Officer in Belgrade, Serbia. The duration of this post is 1 year.

UNOPS mission is to serve people in need by expanding the ability of the United Nations, governments and other partners to manage projects, infrastructure, and procurement in a sustainable and efficient manner.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Communications Officer will perform the following functions-

  • Establish and cultivate relationship with the counterparts in the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), relevant ministries and governmental bodies, SCTM, local self-governments, development organisations and programmes and other key stakeholders.
  • Establish and cultivate relationship with relevant counterpart in complementary EU PRO Programme.
  • Establish and cultivate partnerships with the key national, regional and local media.
  • Play a leading role in collating and developing external reports used to inform donor and the key stakeholders of the Swiss PRO interventions, and key developments in the Programme Area.
  • Contribute to presentation of the Programme’s support to key stakeholders, as per agreement with the Programme Manager and/or National Programme Manager.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in communications, journalism, public relations, international relations or a related field is required.
  • Advanced University Degree in related discipline will be considered an advantage.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in communications, public relations, media or journalism is required.
  • Experience with international organisations is an asset.
  • Fluency in Serbian and English is required.
