Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist will perform the following functions:

  • Take lead in developing and harmonizing the M&E framework for EbA II in line with the project document for measuring results at all levels.
  • Devise a mechanism for the collection and maintenance of project information/data at systemic level for analysis and reporting.
  • Design and establish an appropriate programme monitoring system in place – and align with UNE corporate reporting and monitoring mechanism.
  • Undertake regular tracking of Project log frame, RRF, ME framework and AWPs and other documents to ensure that the intended progress targets, outputs and their deliverables are achieved and delivered.
  • Prepare monitoring schedules and undertake periodic monitoring of activities and provide feedback to PMU.
  • Act as a Communication and Monitoring Focal Point of the Project and liaise accordingly.
  • Design, develop and operate communication and outreach materials for project’s enhanced visibility.
  • Prepare periodic reports such as APRs, QPRs, PIRs, monitoring and evaluation reports and project briefs for submission and briefing to MoFE, UNE / GEF and other stakeholders as deemed necessary.
  • Team up with National Thematic Consultants to develop training materials for national and project beneficiaries.
  • Ensure regular back-up of MIS database and electronic documents.
  • Document good practices and lessons generated by the project for knowledge sharing and management.
  • Develop a mechanism for social auditing of project interventions and get involved occasionally while undertaking them.
  • Undertake any other responsibilities relevant for EbA as required by NPM.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • Master’s degree in social sciences, development studies, natural resources management, management or other relevant subjects or a Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of related work experience.
  • 5 years of work experience in programme/project in a Government, multilateral or INGO environment.
  • Experience of working with Government Institutions and development partners and in natural resource management or climate change related project is a distinct advantage.
  • Prior working knowledge of RBM methodologies and tools (project and programme management, design, monitoring and evaluation) with excellent computer and office software usage skills is a must.
  • Strong written and communication skills of English and Nepali languages.
  • Nationality of Nepal.
