Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Compliance and Oversight Officer will perform the following functions-

  • Lead the preparation and implementation of the annual work plan of the Compliance and Oversight Unit to ensure work priorities and objectives, taking into account the most effective use of resources.
  • Develop models to detect unusual activity; Review processes templates and procedures, including those associated with monitoring and evaluation.
  • Assess compliance to internal procedures, controls mechanisms, UNOPS policies and procedures, donors requirements, and Government regulations, and ensure supporting documentation is exhaustive and consistent.
  • Monitor risks related to the achievement of MMOC financial and non-financial objectives and ensure the alignment of risk management framework with the internal control measures.
  • Mitigate the risk of misuse of donor funds and ensure that an effective internal control mechanism is in place to prevent and detect fraud. Manage cases of reported, suspected, and occurred fraud across UNOPS Myanmar.

Applicants must have-

  • Advanced University Degree in Project Management, Business Administration, International Relations, Political/Security/ Development Studies, or other relevant discipline with additional 10 years of relevant working experience.
  • University Degree (bachelor’s degree/ first level) with a combination of 2 additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the advance university degree.
  • 10 years (or more based on academic credentials) of progressive experience in project development and management, with focus on monitoring, reporting, development and coordination in either public or private sector organizations.
  • Desired experience in the implementation of similar projects / programmes.
  • Previous similar experience in Yemen or similar hard-ship duty stations is an asset
  • An excellent knowledge of English and Arabic (both oral and written).
