United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Finance Officer in Yangon, Myanmar.

UNOPS mission is to serve people in need by expanding the ability of the United Nations, governments and other partners to manage projects, infrastructure, and procurement in a sustainable and efficient manner.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Finance Officer will perform the following functions-

  • Preparation of the programme budget; regular analysis and reporting on the budget and the delivery situation; monitoring of expenditures against budget allotments and reporting on variances.
  • Keep up to date with guidelines and procedures for the purpose of complying, streamlining and strengthening of existing financial and budgetary procedures.
  • Prepare timely financial statements and financial reports as per the fund’s requriements.
  • Communicate regularly with colleagues to ensure full control over the budget and sharing of information relevant for budget management across the team.
  • Recommend cost saving strategies in consultations with stakeholders.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

  • CPA or Advanced Degree or equivalent in Business Management, Business Administration or related fields is required.
  • A first-level university degree, in combination with 2 additional years’ qualifying experience, may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional-level experience in accounting with responsibility for project accounting and preparation of financial statements in an international organization in providing financial management services is required.
  • Knowledge of UNOPS financial rules and regulations; working knowledge of ERP (particularly Agresso), experience with MS Office 2010 newer versions, and financial management and using electronic systems are desired.
  • Fluency in English language and Myanmar language is essential.
