Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Health Specialist will perform the following functions-

  • Support to improved supply chain management and tracking from forecasting, procurement until delivery to the service provision points.
  • Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building support for effective vaccine management improvement plan implementation with a focus on cold chain replacement, expansion and rehabilitation planning.
  • Facilitate regular assessment in cold chain and vaccine management as part of evidence generation to facilitate input for new guidelines, policy formulations and implementation plans.
  • Technical support to supportive supervision to states/Region and lower levels for monitoring of supply chain activities for immunization service delivery including cold chain strengthening through real time cold chain inventory update and cold chain management information system (CCMIS).
  • Ensure effective coordination to strengthen national supply planning, shipment, clearance, warehouse stock monitoring and distributions.

Applicants must have-

  • Advanced degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Public Health, Business Administration, Social Sciences andequivalent educational qualification in relevant areas (e.g. information management systems, health supply management).
  • A first university degree in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
  • 5 years of relevant professional work experience at national and sub-national level providing technical support in the area of public health, primary health care, supply chain management, immunization supply chain, cold chain and similar activities.
  • Professional work experience in a technical expert or a managerial position in child survival & development, health and nutrition care.
  • Work experience with UN, INGO and National Health Authorities would be highly desirable.
  • Fluency in English and local working language of the duty station.
  • Nationality of Myanmar.
